Like everybody in our industry I am still reeling from the impact of the closure of the theatres and all the postponed or cancelled projects. I am extremely blessed that so many of the organisations I have been working with have been honourable and have agreed to make final payments. I am very worried about younger designers who rely on assistant work and freelance makers, I hope they can get as much help as quickly as possible.
So for the record this is what should have been happening this spring;
- Nora closed early at the Young Vic
- Mrs Puntilla closed early at the Lyceum and didn’t transfer to the Tramway .
- A Midsummer Nights Dream for Scottish Opera , directed by Dominic Hill made its final floor run and was then postponed, as was its companion piece a new work Hermia’s Nightmare.
- Rusalka for Garsington , directed by Michael Boyd has been postponed 23/24
- A Turn of the Screw for opera Glassworks at Wiltons , directed by Selina Cadell has been postponed.
- A Winter’s Tale for the RSC , directed by Erica Whyman has been postponed.
- A museum in Bagdad, by Hannah Kahil was due to transfer from RSC to The Kiln, this has been cancelled.
- Medea for NTS/EIF directed by Michael Boyd has been postponed to 21 ?
- Story Museum for which I have been doing consultancy work has had its opening delayed.
- Future forest installation at Thetford with Lisa Wright is currently closed.
