Missing Live Theatre

Together with fellow members of SceneChange, a community of stage designers that have gathered together to take action during these ‘strange times’ I have helped to create some of the installations that have covered over 100 buildings across the nation. The aim was to highlight that theatres of all scales, which serve huge range of communities, are all still closed. The tape wrapping buildings in explosive playful patterns riffs on the idea of hazard warning tape that certain theatres had been closed off with, transforming the tape into a decorative inviting feature on a present waiting to be unwrapped. The tape was put up for a few days then removed and sent elsewhere in the country to be reused . A physical demonstration of the interconnected web of British theatre. It was also great to get out with fellow designers working together, problem solving and being practical in the creation of something beautiful.
