Shakespeare Staging the World. (2012)

This was an exciting collaboration with Alan Farley Architects, the RSC exhibitions team and the British Museum. I worked closely with Alan on the feel of the exhibition, the materials (mainly Ply !) and the journey the visitor would take through each environment. We began with a wooden O of stained ply at the centre of which was displayed a first folio, above the display a radiating pattern of wooden beams crossed into all the the other spaces, reminding the viewer that their journey had begun in the  London playhouse and with Shakespeare’s words, all the objects from around the world in the exhibition then created a dialogue with the plays. RSC actors were used in video installations created by David Bickerstaff to bring the words to life.
