Curtain up opens

At last it’s open after months of planing and a lot of consultation within the Design Community ! In many ways I was more nervous  of how my fellow designers might respond to how we have chosen to celebrate their work than I am of the Critics’ s pen. It was hard to find a language that would serve such a diverse range of work and do it justice , while trying to be theatrical and exciting. My main reason for doing the exhibition was to showcase the amazing talents we have in this country , not just in design , but all the associated craft skills which realise our work, and hopefully it can be an inspiration even in  tiny way to show the range of creative roles there are and how exciting theatre can be to work in.Like all good theatre it has been an exciting collaboration with Architect alan Farlie, Graphic designers Northover Brown and lighting From Zerlina Hughes, with fantastic curatorial input from Anna Langdreth Strong from the V and A and Harriet Usher from SOLT.
